Mitch Marner, speaking to reporters ahead of tonight’s showdown, shut down any concerns about his teammate’s mindset. “Everyone wants to produce, wants to score goals, and he hasn’t let it get him down at all,” Marner said. “His mood, his demeanor in the locker room, has been unbelievable.”

Marner acknowledged the Panthers’ defensive structure has posed serious challenges, but he emphasized the importance of discipline and patience as the series intensifies. “We’re working for opportunities. They just haven’t dropped yet,” he added. “By any means, we can’t get aggressive with it and start cheating the game.”
Coach Berube sees breakthrough coming for Matthews
Leafs head coach Craig Berube backed up Marner’s comments, reinforcing that Matthews’ contributions go beyond the score sheet. “He does a great job in a lot of other areas,” Berube said. “He’s going to get his looks. The big goal is coming.”
