Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has been tested positive for the coronavirus, the club confirmed.Simeonegotinfected, but he is asymptomatic, so he gone into14-dayquarantine.

Simeone, along with the rest of Atletico’s coaching staff, hadundergonePCR tests on Friday, shortlyafter returning from training. One member of the team was positive on Thursday, after which they decided to stop thepre-season preparations and return to Madrid.

This is the thirdmost recent case of aCOVID-19 infectionin theColchoneros.The other two cases werestriker Diego Costa and midfielder Santiago Arias.

The2020-2021La Liga started yesterday and continues today, but some of the matches have been postponed. According to theschedule, Atleti’sfirst match is against Granadaon September 27.
