Argentina +200
Brazil +225
Colombia +450
Uruguay  +900
Chile +1300

The oddsmakers at DraftKings have put out who they believe are the top 5 teams that will lift the Copa America trophy come July 2021. The usual suspects of Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay are present with Chile being a surprise. The 2021 Copa America was originally set to take place in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was pushed back one year.

Still the new tournament has not been without some hiccups as Qatar and Australia had to withdraw due to the postponement of the AFC Second Round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. It will mark the first time in the modern era that the tournament will be held in two countries in two groups and with the final being held in Bogota on July 10.

Concerns have arisen that with the postponement of key fixtures of South American World Cup Qualifying, that this Copa America might be held in a congested schedule and if the national teams will even take their A squads to the competition. Nonetheless, assuming each team is at their best here are the odds as to who will win the 2021 Copa America according to DraftKings.

Argentina (+200)

Argentina are number one but only because part of the tournament will be played in Argentina and the other reason being Argentina’s ultimate X factor Lionel Messi. In what could be Messi’s last Copa America he’d like to start the road to a World Cup with the Copa America title.

Brazil (+225)

The reigning champions are just coasting through World Cup qualifying. Copa America might be the perfect time for Brazil to gel even more and win their tenth title. Neymar and company have been riding high and they’d love to make it two in a row.

Colombia (+450)

As another host nation Colombia is up there, but they have had a dreadful qualifying campaign so far, which resulted in a coaching change. Reinaldo Rueda is once again their coach and Los Cafeteros will have to do a lot to convince anyone they are favorites.

Uruguay (+900)

Uruguay is the all-time winningest team of the competition. Los Charruas have a deadly tandem in Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani to carry a nation's hopes. Óscar Tabárez’s side can be Jekyll and Hyde at times but they come through big time in big tournaments. A dark horse they might just get this one.

Chile (+1300)

Long shot Chile has also not started off well in World Cup qualifying. A side that looks like their better days are behind them, it would not be wise at all to place a bet on Chile winning this tournament.
