The Brooklyn Nets have been the team to watch for most of the season. Kevin Durant came back even better than ever,Kyrie Irving stole the headlines for his two-week break from the NBA, and then trading for James Harden made them even more of a reality show. But when it comes to basketball, it's pretty clear that they're still a work in progress and will take some time before they fulfill their true potential. It's either that or they'll have to question whether Steve Nash is the right guy for the coaching job or not.

When you have three of the best scorers to ever list on your roster, you have to get some stoppers around them. They can bail you out a couple of times, but you're not going to win an NBA championship unless you play some defense.

That's why the Nets are getting exposed night in and night out, especially by subpar teams that should be getting blown out. It happened again vs. the Detroit Pistons last night, and it seems like Kyrie isn't having it anymore.

Kyrie Irving Says The Referees Are Biased Against Them

“We’re the team that gets someone taken out during COVID during the games. We’re the team that has to deal with the refs. We’re the team that is battling against so many odds," Uncle Drew said after the game.

Well, every single team in the NBA has had to deal with Covid-19 and the referees have been as bad as per usual for all teams in the league equally. Also, he missed two weeks of the competition because he didn't want to play.

Kyrie Irving Promises The Nets Will Put The NBA On Notice

Furthermore, Irving issued a strong warning to the rest of the NBA, claiming that they're done playing catchup and being average and that is just a matter of time before finally figure things out:

“We’re playing catch up and it happens to be against the guys with least best records. We gotta call it to what it is. (...) I don’t think that we go out every single day of our lives and sacrifice the time in order to be average at anything. We look very average, and we have the talent that the eye test presents that we should be dominating," he said.

“As a warrior that I am, and the energy that I have alongside my teammates, we just have to turn that corner. We haven’t done it yet, but we will. I’m telling you, the league’s going to be on notice when that happens," Irving concluded.

The Nets have more talent than most teams in the league but talent isn't enough to win at the highest level. If anything, it's great to see that Irving is finally ready to lead by example and help the team fulfill its potential.
