Every time LeBron James comes back home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, you know that’s a must-watch game. There are a lot of feelings involved, and that’s usually when The King plays at his best.
Last night wasn’t the exception to that trend, as the 36-year-old small forward proved why he’s one of the greatest players in NBA history and reminded the Cavaliers of the guy who made them a contender for years.
LeBron led the Los Angeles Lakers to an impressive 115-108 win over his former team with a 46-point outburst, adding 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and a whopping 7 three-pointers.
LeBron James Says ‘Homecooking’ Was The Reason Why He Played So Well Vs. The Cavs
So, when asked about why he had such an outstanding performance vs. his former team, The King kept it as simple and honest as he could, crediting his mom and her home-cooked meals for that:
“Home-cooking. Got an opportunity to see your mom, have a home-cooked meal. (…) It feels good to be back in my haven,” LeBron said.
Well, Mrs. Gloria James will have to give us that recipe, that’s for sure. I mean, if that what she made him for 18 years to turn him into the athletic freak he’s still nowadays, I would totallywant a plateful of that.
LeBron James continues to play at an incredible level for a guy his age and is one of the frontrunners to win the MVP award this season, leading the reigning champions Lakers to an NBA-best 14-4 record.
Thus far, the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat player has continued to turn back the clock, averaging 25.2 points with 7.9 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game on 32.4 minutes and 49.7% from the floor. I definitely want that diet, too.
