It’s official: the Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with Frank Vogel, who led the team to the 2020 NBA championship, after a disappointing season for the team. The news has been circulating since this morning, however, the franchise announced this afternoon.
According to sources cited by ESPN, the Lakers don’t have a frontrunner for his replacement yet, so the search for a new head coach is expected to be lengthy. Vogel originally signed a three-year contract in 2019, and received a one-year extension this past offseason.
