LeBron James finally made his debut in the NBA preseason when the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers earned a 112-107 win over the Suns, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis returning to the court.
It was a good game for the King, but he didn’t start things the best way. LeBron seemed to struggle during the first moments of the game until he finally caught up with the pace of the game and started playing as he knows.
That is exactly what former NFL player-turned-analyst Shannon Sharpe saw on Wednesday night from LeBron, stating he was “a little rusty” when he entered the court but could get back and track and finished the game in a proper way.
Shannon Sharpe says LeBron James was “a little rusty” during first preseason game
During a recent episode of FS1’s Undisputed, Sharpe explained that Bron was trying to figure things out during the first quarter of the game before he finally starts playing like he always plays.
“The first quarter you can tell that it’s been a while. They took off the first two preseason games. Especially LeBron was a little rusty, but come 2nd quarter he got it going.
“I think both of those guys picked it up in the 2nd quarter. LeBron got that fadeaway going and you know once he gets that fadeaway going you are at his mercy.”
He claimed that LeBron is only getting started now. When the new NBA season starts, he will be at the best level, ready to start a season that will bring a lot of challenges to the Lakers and the King.
“I loved what I saw from the Lakers. GOAT James will be ready, come Tuesday night. Hang a banner and get a dub.”
Los Angeles are the favorite team to win the NBA this season and seeing how they played in the preseason and everything that their players could do, the fans have plenty of reasons to be hopeful about the team.
They added a couple of pieces that took their game to the next level and everybody within the Lakers organization is happy with that. As for the rest of the league, they are worried about the things this squad can do.
