The Brooklyn Nets put together one of the most stacked teams in NBA history. They didnāt hesitate to risk their future to bring a championship to Barclays Center right now, and all eyes have been set on them since the start of last season.
Injuries, tough luck, and some off-court controversy have taken a toll on the Netsā aspirations to dominate the Eastern Conference. But now that theyāre healthy, theyāre once again the team to beat in the league.
But even if they donāt succeed in their title aspirations, Nets superstar Kevin Durant claims that heās no longer bothered or worried about the expectations. If anything, he just wants to play and have fun.
NBA News: Kevin Durant Isnāt Worried About The Netsā Title Expectations
āBefore, I used to worry about expectations, but now, Iām solidified and confident in what I bring,ā Durant told The Ringer. āI just try to focus on me the most as I can, the best I can.Us winning a title, that would be amazing. That would be incredible. But thatās not the only reason why I play basketball.ā
āI want to develop every day and I truly like this activity, you know what Iām saying?ā Durant added. āI like getting up knowing that Iām going to go play, and thatās really it for me. The championship and scoring 30 and the level that I expect to be at, thatās because I work to get there, but I just simply like the activity.ā
The Nets are peaking at the right time and now that Kyrie Irving will be eligible to play at home as well as on the road, they might as well end up winning the Larry OāBrien trophy. But if not, then KD is completely fine with it at this point in his career.
