NBA Thursday games postponed after second players meeting

The NBA has officially postponed Thursday's playoff games after the players agreed to restart the season this weekend.

The Milwaukee Bucksdecided to not play Game 5 of their first-round series of the NBA playoffs vs. theOrlando MagicThat decision to boycott the NBAseason quickly spread around the league, with the following two games also being postponed.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers – Los Angeles Lakers stood by the Bucks and announced that they weren’t going to play, with the NBA claiming all games would be rescheduled.

The leaguealso announced that they wouldn’t enforce any kind of discipline or penalty and expressed their support to the teams and players that decided to voice their concerns in the aftermath of the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

NBA Thursday Games Postponed

Needless to say, that means today’s games are also postponed.The players, coaches, and referees held a meeting until late night yesterday and are reportedly set to meet again with team owners to determine a course of action.

Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazzwere scheduled to play today at 4:00 pm (ET), followed by Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors (6:30 pm ET), and Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks (9:00 pm ET).

And, according to multiple reports, the players and the league expect to resume play as soon as Friday. However, an official date or an updated schedule is yet to be announced by the Associatoin.

NBA Players Meeting: They Want To Hold The Owners Accountable

NBA players agreed to travel to Orlando and attend the bubble to continue the season as long as they felt like they were given a fair chance to voice their concerns regarding social injustice and police brutality in the United States.

Most of them are feeling like, while they’re doing a great job of spreading awareness, they must do something different to inspire change. That’s why they’re trying to hold team owners accountable for not committing enough money and efforts to social justice initiatives.

The NBA’s Board of Governors is also set to meet today at noon to decide which measures they’re willing to take to appease the situation but, as of now, the remainder of the season is in huge jeopardy.
