The Minnesota Vikings are placing all their championship hopes and long-term future on J.J. McCarthy. For that reason, the team let Sam Darnold go and did not make a higher offer to retain Daniel Jones, who ended up signing with the Indianapolis Colts.
In one of the biggest stories of the offseason, the Vikings also denied any rumors linking Aaron Rodgers as an option in Minnesota, giving their full confidence to the former University of Michigan standout.
Now, McCarthy has a spectacular offensive roster at his disposal with names like Aaron Jones, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson. However, as with all NFL teams, injuries could be a key factor in preventing success.
Who got injured with Minnesota Vikings?
Rondale Moore suffered a severe injury to his left knee during the preseason game between the Vikings and the Houston Texans. The wide receiver could be out for the entire year, according to reports from Adam Schefter and Kevin Seifert.
This past March, Moore signed with Minnesota after suffering another knee injury in 2024 with the Atlanta Falcons. He was projected to be a key piece, adding depth to the WR position.

Although Justin Jefferson is firmly established as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, Jordan Addison is suspended for three games, and from the No. 3 spot on the roster down, the position remains a mystery.
Rondale Moore had a real chance to climb the depth chart, but it now appears he won’t play again in 2025. This was head coach Kevin O’Connell’s reaction after the game:
“It’s one of the most painful things for me as a head coach when I feel the emotion. I make a life out of trying to leave others better than I found them. In that situation, there is really nothing to do, or nothing I can do, which is the worst feeling as a head coach. So, you just console him and make sure that he knows he’s not going to be alone.”
