Matthew Tkachuk has proven to be an NHL star based on his performances with the Florida Panthers, who are tied 2-2 in the second-round series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In recent days, rumors had been growing about the physical condition of the 27-year-old forward. However, coach Paul Maurice managed to make his assessment of the team’s key player clear.

The series is tied after the Panthers came back from a 0-2 deficit in the first two games. The good news for Florida was not only finishing with a shutout, but also confirming that their star Tkachuk continues to contribute points for the team.

Returning from a long injury sustained in February during the 4 Nations Face-Off with Team USA hasn’t been easy for Tkachuk. Stepping onto the ice in the middle of the playoffs is a demanding challenge for a player who now wants to clear up any doubts about new ailments in the series against Maple Leafs.

“I think his game last game was his best. I think his last three games that he’s played have been the best that he’s played in the playoffs. I think he has an incredible ability to adapt his game, and I think he was doing that in the Tampa series, almost straight through the Tampa series. But he is back,” Maurice said according to NHL.com. It is clear that Tkachuk is no longer involved in new injury rumors.
