After three important victories in friendly matches, Al Nassr face Almeria in a friendly game. Given the team’s great form, they were expected to clearly demonstrate their superiority. However, the game was evenly matched, with them even falling behind after an early goal in the 6th minute. Despite this setback, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a crucial brace, leading once again his team in the game.

In a collective play during the 17th minute, Brazilian striker Angelo and Ayman Yahya pierced through Almeria’s defensive line. It was Sadio Mane who received the ball in the center of the area and skillfully found Cristiano Ronaldo, unmarked in front of goalkeeper Andres Fernandez, allowing him to finish with class and secure Al Nassr’s equalizer.

With poise and precision, Ronaldo converted the spot-kick, propelling the Saudi Arabian squad into the partial lead.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team joy was short-lived as Almeria swiftly equalized four minutes later. Goalkeeper Bento made a surprising mistake when he ventured out to midfield and misplayed the ball giving it to Adrian Embarba who seized the opportunity. He launched a long-range shot into the empty net to level the score.

Al Nassr’s performances reveal the big challenge Jorge Jesus still faces as head coach

Al Nassr have showcased their competitiveness during recent friendly matches, demonstrating offensive prowess with Cristiano Ronaldo at the helm. They have also made strides in midfield, displaying increased solidity. However, their defense solidity remains a significant challenge.

Across their four friendly encounters, Al Nassr managed just one clean sheet. Their strategy of aggressive high pressure, while integral to their play style, often leaves gaps that opponents exploit. Today, goalkeeper Bento’s error stemmed from the team’s high-pressure approach, allowing Adrain Embarba to capitalize and score the equalizer.

Despite this, head coach Jorge Jesus is making positive progress, especially given his brief tenure. He has reached to give some solidity and team cohesion. Nonetheless, IƱigo Martinez’s quick adaptation is crucial to fortify a defense yearning for leadership and stability.
