When and where is the 2025 UEFA Champions League final?

That’s why the UCL final is one of the most highly awaited events each year—and this season, it’s just around the corner.

This Tuesday, Inter Milan secured their place in the championship match after defeating Barcelona with an aggregate score of 7-6. Now, only one semifinal remains: on Wednesday at Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain will try to hold on to their 1–0 advantage from the first leg against Arsenal.

Once both finalists are confirmed, everything will be set for the grand finale. The tournament format changes for the final: the decisive match is a single game played at a neutral venue, unlike previous rounds that feature two legs hosted by each team.

The 2024–25 UEFA Champions League final will be played on Saturday, May 31, at Allianz Arena in Germany, the home stadium of Bayern Munich, also known as Munich Football Arena.

What is the stadium like where the Champions League final will be played?

With a capacity of 75,000 spectators, Allianz Arena is the second-largest stadium in Germany, behind only Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park (81,365). It was inaugurated in 2005 and cost €340 million (about $386 million) to build.

In its 20 years of existence, it has hosted major events, including six matches during the 2006 FIFA World Cup, four games in UEFA Euro 2020, and six more during UEFA Euro 2024. The stadium has also hosted a Champions League final before: in 2012, Chelsea were crowned champions of Europe there after defeating Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout.

Allianz Arena is unique in being the only one in the world with a full color-changing exterior, thanks to plastic panels installed on the outside of the structure. The pitch measures the standard 105 m x 68 m (344 ft x 223 ft), and the surface is hybrid turf—made up of a carpet that contains synthetic fibers, into which natural grass is planted.

One key difference this year compared to past editions is that several of Europe’s top clubs won’t finish their campaigns with the Champions League final. That’s because of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will extend the season. In fact, two of this year’s Champions League semifinalists—Inter Milan and PSG—will take part in that tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, June 14, in Miami.
