The ATP Cup, which was founded in January 2020, is an International Hard Outdoor Men’s Tennis Tournament held betweennations. The tournament is held over ten days in three cities in Australia before the Australian Open and involves players from 24 nations.
For the first time since the ATP World Team Cup in Düsseldorf, 1978 to 2012, this event is a return from the ATP team contest to the calendar. The first tournament was held in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth fromJanuary 3 to January 12, 2020.From its founding anduntil ATP Cup 2022, Sydney will host the tournament.
The Cup’s teams are determined by their best player’s individual ranking. Eight teams are announced on the week of the American Open on the basis of the highest single player ranking. To qualify, a country is required to have at least three players with ATP ranking.

The top seed Serbia will lead Group A headlined by World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, comprising of Germany and Canada as well. They are the reigning champions and the first champions of the ATP Cup ever. Last year’s runners-up, Spain is located in Group B, also composed of Greece and Australia. For the second straight year, World No. 2 Rafael Nadal will lead his country.
Austria, led by World No. 3 Dominic Thiem, will faceItaly and France in Group C. Russia will aim to do the same in Group D, which comprises Argentina and Japan, the fourth seed, headlined by Daniil Medvedev.
ATP Cup 2021: Schedule
On Day 1,Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, and Daniil Medvedev will begin each of their roads towards the Finals. At the day’s sitting, the reigning Serbian champion will open his offer to contend with Canada for a second straight title on Rod Laver Arena.
Serbia defeated Canada in the knockout process 3-0 at last year’s game. The tie created one of the event’s most unforgettable matches, with Denis Shapovalov being defeated by Djokovic in a final tie break. They will rejoin as the No. 1 single players in their country. In the evening, Spain and Australia will come against each otherat Rod Laver Arena. After last year’s semi-finals in single, Rafael Nadal and Alex de Minaur will meet again. Meanwhile, Russia will face Argentina.
The tournament will commence with 12 group stage games in a period of three days, with each of the four group winners progressing to thesemifinals. The semi-finals will be contested on Friday both at the same time before the final game on Saturday.
