After two thrilling weeks,Tokyo 2020has come to an end. The whole planet followed its action closely and theUnited Stateshasfulfilled the expectations, ending the Games with the most medals of all the countries, as they did in Rio 2016 five years ago.

TheOlympics medal tableended up withthe US in the first placewith 39golds andthe most awards so far with 113 medals.China ended up second in the standings with 38golds. Japan wasthird in the standingsbehindwith 27golds in the medal count.

How many Olympic medalshave the USAwon in the Olympic Games history?

The United States was represented in 35 of the 47 sports that tookplace at Tokyo 2020. The US athletesbrought 113 medals home this year, eight less than the Rio 2016 Olympics. Five years ago, they brought121 medals home, 46 of them were gold, 37 silver, and 38 bronze.

From the first Olympic Games held in 1986 in Athens to the beginning of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, including up to Rio 2016 awards, the United States hascollected 2,636medals, 1,061of them gold, 836silver, and739bronze.
