
<p><strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/benjamin-mendy" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benjamin Mendy</a></strong> has filed a claim with the Employment Tribunal in England for unpaid wages and unjust deductions of his salary while the now Lorient player was facing rape and sexual assault charges filed in 2021 when he was playing for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/manchester-city" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Manchester City.</a></p>



<p>Mendy’s demand is reported by Sky Sports to be in the<strong> “multi million pound”</strong> range. After being found not guilty of the charges he faced since 2021, Mendy and his legal team are seeking a return of the wages he was deducted.<br></p>



<p>The funds Mendy seeks are from when the deductions started to when his contract ended in June of 2023, which led him to sign with French side FC Lorient in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ligue-1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ligue 1</a>.<br></p>

<p>In July of 2023, Mendy was found not guilty by a jury at a retrial. He was found not guilty of sexual assault against several women but did reach verdicts on two other charges which led to the retrial.<br></p>

<p>Mendy’s attorney made a statement on behalf of the player, <em>“Nick De Marco KC (instructed by Laffer Abogados (Madrid) is acting for the former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy in a multi-million-pound claim for unauthorized deductions from wages.</em><br></p>

<p>“<em>Manchester City FC failed to pay Mr. Mendy any wages at all from September 2021, following Mr. Mendy being charged with various offenses all of which he was subsequently acquitted of, until the end of his contract in June 2023. The claim will come before an Employment Tribunal.”</em><br></p>

<p>Benjamin Mendy returned to action for Lorient in only three games this season, playing a handful of minutes in a win and two defeats.<br></p>

<p>Mendy has put up his near $6.3 million mansion up for sale in order to pay his legal fees and tax debt he accumulated during his near 23-month layoff. Mendy’s accountant stated, <em>“He was very short of money indeed, the cost of the legal case were over one million pounds.”</em></p>

<p>According to The Sun, <strong>Mendy is looking for up to 10 million pounds in back wages that were not paid to him.</strong> Mendy’s agent is reported to have told the court; they are <em>“in negotiations with Manchester City to get back pay on the basis that he has been found not guilty”.</em></p>

<p>The French soccer player was also cleared of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in January. His last game was against Tottenham <strong>on August 2021</strong>, before being arrested and later suspended by the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/premier-league">Premier League</a>.</p>



<p>Mendy, who was released by City when his contract expired at the end of June, has denied all the charges made against him. Shortly after he was cleared, Depay sent a message of support for the 28-year-old.</p>

<p>Mendy’s codefendant Louis Saha Matturie was also transferred amid the same fears. Strangeways is considered to be one of the toughest jails in the country. <strong>As many as 600 prisoners arelocked up for 22 hours a day</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Benjamin Mendy was charged with seven counts of rape by December of 2021, the original charges were brought about in August of 2021. </strong>The charges stem from alleged offenses against two different women and a girl aged over 16 and under 18, during October 2020 and August 2021.</p>
<p>Life inside any prison for sex offenders is hard, and in the case of Mendy,<strong><em> “They will be screaming his name for weeks so he won’t be getting much sleep, especially as he’s charged with sex offences. There are a lot of Blues’ fans there as well, but even the most avid will struggle to protect an alleged sex offender”</em></strong> a source told The Sun. </p>
