<p>Year after year, executives, fans, players, and media gethyped about the offseason acquisitions every franchise makes to pursue a championship. However, that means some <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/nba/nba-power-rankings-5-teams-with-the-brightest-future-20200723-0002.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBA teams</a> <strong>face a lot of pressure to get the job done right away.</strong></p>
<p>There are some rosters that are <strong>on the verge of an overhaul.</strong> Either because of a poor fit, tough luck or just because their coach fails to make the most of them, it seems like <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/nba/nba-playoffs-2020-schedule-format-odds-and-how-to-watch-20200814-0001.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">these playoffs</a> are going to be the last chance for some projects.</p>
<p>And, even though this time homecourt advantage won’t mean a thing throughout the playoffs, the way the teams perform under pressure <strong>could end up deciding the fate of their coaches, role players, and stars.</strong></p>

<p>That being said, let’s take a look at the <strong>5 <a href="http://nba.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBA</a> teams under the most pressure in the playoffs. </strong>Hopefully, they’ll be able to live up to the expectations and perform at the highest level when it matters most.</p>
<h2>5. Philadelphia 76ers</h2>

<p>The <strong>Philadelphia 76ers</strong> acquired <strong>Al Horford </strong>and<strong> Josh Richardson</strong> in the offseason to make up for the loss of <strong>Jimmy Butler.</strong> They entered the year as one of the strongest candidates out of the Eastern Conference, yet underperformed once again throughout the regular season.</p>
<p>Philadelphia makes it to the playoffs as the 6th seed in the East and is bound to face their nemesis in the<strong> Boston Celtics.</strong> It also feels like patience is running out for <em>‘The Process’</em> and the team just doesn’t get along.</p>
<p><strong>Ben Simmons’</strong> injury was a major blow for their championship aspirations but there have always been huge doubts about his fit next to<strong> Joel Embiid.</strong> A first-round exit may translate to a major overhaul in their roster.<span></span></p>

<p>The <strong>Houston Rockets </strong>made a huge move this offseason. They traded away<strong> Chris Paul </strong>and multiple picks to pair <strong>Russell Westbrook</strong> with <strong>James Harden</strong> again, something that many people could end up in a big disappointment.</p>
<p>Harden and Westbrook have meshed together perfectly. Then again, there are serious doubts about <strong>Mike D’Antoni’s </strong>woes in the playoffs and his full-commitment to small-ball. It may work sometimes but the Rockets lack the personnel to make in-game adjustments when their shot isn’t falling.</p>
<p>The Rockets, Harden, Westbrook, and D’Antoni all have a long history of underperforming in the playoffs and<strong> Daryl Morey’s</strong> job may be in jeopardy after the China controversy. Anything less than a trip to the Finals may be enough for them to blow the roster up.</p>
<h2>3. Los Angeles Lakers</h2>

<p>The <strong>Los Angeles Lakers </strong>have one of the toughest narratives this year. They want to honor <strong>Kobe Bryant’s </strong>passing with an NBA Championship and both<strong> LeBron James</strong> and<strong> Anthony Davis </strong>know that part of their legacy may be at stake. They have too much to win and too much to lose.</p>
<p>The Lakers haven’t looked good at all since the restart of the season. Their defense has been solid but their offense has struggled mightily even despite the additions of <strong>Dion Waiters</strong> and <strong>JR Smith. </strong>Then again, we know <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/nba/LeBron-James-and-his-Guinness-World-Records-20200714-0003.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LeBron</a> always takes it up a notch in the playoffs.</p>
<p>Davis is almost a lock to resign with the Lakers this summer. <strong>Barring a major tragedy, he’s going to wear the purple and gold for many more years</strong>. Still, they’re the top seed in the West and have the responsibility of taking the franchise back to the top of the world.</p>

<p>The <strong>Los Angeles Clippers</strong> didn’t hesitate to trade away multiple picks and players to get <strong>Paul George </strong>this summer. They put together arguably the best two-way duo in the league and the Clippers have been almost unbeatable when they’ve been at full strength.</p>
<p>Even so, both George and <strong>Kawhi Leonard</strong> can be out of the team a couple of years from now due to the nature of their contracts, so they know their title window may shut down pretty soon and there’s no time to waste. They must win now.</p>
<p>The Clippers’ roster has struggled to stay healthy and they enter the playoffs a bit banged up. They have enough depth, stars, and one of the best coaches in the world, so there’s no room for excuses. <strong>They have to lead the team to their first-ever Finals appearance or it’ll be considered a failure.</strong></p>

<p>The <strong>Milwaukee Bucks</strong> posted the best record in the league for the second straight year, yet there are plenty of people who doubt their ability to thrive in the playoffs. Even if<strong> Giannis Antetokounmpo</strong> is poised to win back-to-back MVPs and the Defensive Player of the Year award.</p>
<p>The Bucks have a historically good defense and a team full of scorers. Still, we know about Giannis’ struggles in the playoffs when the defense collapses the paint, and <strong>Mike Budenholzer </strong>has a history of failing to adjust in-game in the playoffs.</p>
<p>Milwaukee must build on their regular-season success and at least make it to the NBA Finals, <strong>especially considering that most NBA teams will be after Giannis in the summer.</strong> He wants to win at all costs and may end up leaving the Bucks if they underperform again.</p>

<p><strong>Doug Christie </strong>was originally drafted by the Seattle Supersonics but due to a contract breach, he had to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Like most rookies, he barely found any playing time and was eventually traded to the Knicks.</p>
<p>Christie broke out with the Raptors and Kingswhen he – ironically – antagonized the Lakers several times in the playoffs. He finished his career at age 36 with the Los Angeles Clippers, <strong>even though he only made 7 appearances.</strong></p>

<p>Basketball was <strong>Caron Butler’s</strong> way out of the streets and once he had the chance to prove his worth, he never looked back. His tenure with the Lakers was brief but he averaged over 15 points and developed a great rapport with Kobe Bryant.</p>
<p>Butler later took his game to a whole new level with the Washington Wizards, also playing for the Dallas Mavericks before having a two-year tenure with the Clippers. <strong>He eventually retired with the Kings in 2016.</strong></p>

He struggled to find his place in the league with some non-guaranteed deals and spending a lot of time in the Development League until the Clippers gave him a chance in 2004.</p>
<p>Barnes then took his 3-and-D expertise all over the league before coming back to Los Angeles to play with the Lakers. He stayed there for a couple of seasons and<strong> later joined the Clippers again from 2012-15.</strong></p>

<p>Prime Jamison was a problem. He was a walking bucket and dominant rebounder that could take the best defenders in the league to school.<strong> He spent the final two years of his career in Los Angeles, first with the Lakers and then with the Clippers.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Sasha Vujacic </strong>didn’t exactly hit you as an athletic or fast guy but, contrary to popular belief, he was pretty savvy and could contribute tomultiple aspects of the game. That’s what granted him such a long career in the league.</p>
<p>Vujacic’s golden years came with the Lakers and he even played a part on their back-to-back rings in 2009-10. <strong>He went back to Europe</strong> before making an NBA comeback with the Clippers in 2014 but only played two games.</p>
<h2>8. Chris Kaman</h2>

<p><strong>Chris Kaman</strong> entered the league as the 6th overall pick in 2003. The Clippers trusted him as their big man for the future and he lived up to the expectations, averaging nearly a double-double all seasons and even getting an All-Star nod.</p>
<p>Kaman then struggled to establish himself elsewhere in the league before going back to Los Angeles, this time with the Lakers.<strong> However, he was far from his prime and only made 39 appearances for the purple and gold.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Jamaal Wilkes </strong>is one of Los Angeles’s biggest pride. He excelled at UCLA before taking his talents to the NBA. He played for the Warriors during the first three seasons of his career before joining the Lakers.</p>

<p>Most young Lakers fans may not remember him but back in the day, <strong>Jim McMillian </strong>was a walking bucket. He averaged almost 20 points per game and helped the team win an NBA Championship during his 3-year tenure with them.</p>
<p>McMillian later took his talents to the East Side, joining the<strong> Buffalo Braves</strong> for another three years. As most of you may know by now, that Braves franchise would eventually become the Clippers.</p>

<p>He later broke out with the <strong>Toronto Raptors</strong> before also shining with the Lakers over three years. Now, he’s one of the Clippers’ locker room leaders and one of the greatest Sixth Men in the history of the game.</p>

<h2>How Do The 2020 NBA Playoffs Work?</h2>
<p>All teams will play<strong> 8 regular-season games for seeding purposes</strong>, including playoffs teams. Those teams that are still in contention to clinch one of the three remaining playoffs spots will have to significantly close the gap with the current8th seeded team of their conference.</p>
<p>If less than 4 games separate the 8th and 9th seed of each conference, those teams will enter <strong>a play-in tournament. </strong>That tournament will require the 8th seeded team to win 1 game or the 9th seeded team to win 2 games. Eventually, the 8 best teams from each conference will complete the playoffs pool.</p>
<p>Then, teams will enter the 1st round of the playoffs, a best-of-seven series depending on their seeding. The team with the best record of the conference will face the 8th seed, and so it goes (2-7, 3-6, 4-5). The first to win 4 games will advance to the 2nd round, later the Conference Finals, and eventually, the NBA Finals <strong>(All series will be best-of-seven).</strong></p>

The worst their record is, the higher they’ll be seeded after <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/nba/NBA-Draft-2020-Everything-you-need-to-know-20200717-0002.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lottery picks </a>(15th – 30th pick).</p>
<h2>NBA Bubble Schedule</h2>
<p>The NBA bubble season will start on July 30 with the seeding games. That stage will go all the way to August 14. Play-in games, if necessary, will take place in the following days before the start of the playoffs. Moreover, the league is about to have all-day action like the NCAA’s March Madness tournament, at least until the end of the regular season.</p>

<p><strong>The Sacramento Kings</strong> have been poorly managed since their very first days. The team has gone through multiple relocations from Rochester, to Cincinnati, to Kansas City, until they finally settled in Sacramento, although with little-to-none success.</p>
