And when you’re down that much you’re having to for it as opposed to take points here and there. I thought it was a great plan early but obviously it didn’t go the way (we wanted).”

We want to win every game, we want to make people proud. We want to play the game the right way. There’s a lot of other things, but, you know, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that. We want to go to the CFP, because once you get in, man, who knows what can happen? It’s the team that’s the hottest that makes it happen.”

“We play UCLA every year, the first thing I do is say where is it? When is it? I want it to be as cold as possible. Now they’re smart, (UCLA and USC), they play each other at the end of the year so they’re kind of protected from some cold-weather games. But as we start thinking about the College Football Playoff, yeah, I want to play those games in the midwest, in the northeast, in the north. I want to play them in cold areas to help the Big Ten.”

“And I know the risk — people are going to poach your players,” Moore also added. “People are going to do that regardless. People shop players. I don’t think the spring game is going to make a big difference in whether your guys get poached or not. We got to do a great job continuing the relationships we have with our players so that we can keep the ones we got and we want. We’ll take it day by day, and we’ll go from there.”

Since 2016, the Nebraska Cornhuskers hadn’t managed to secure a Bowl game, but that streak was broken last season. Still, Matt Rhule is aiming for more in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">NCAAF</a>, and that’s why he’s focused on building the most competitive roster possible. The Transfer Portal presents a great opportunity to bring in top talent, but it could also serve as a gateway for some of his players to seek new opportunities elsewhere.


 


Given that it can be a double-edged sword for college programs, Matt Rhule knows that the Transfer Portal has the potential to strengthen a roster, but it can also harm it. “I think anybody we lost to when it was straight up — so the world we’re living in now if I offer you [pointing] $50 and I offer you $500, you’re probably gonna go there,” the HC said to the press..



“So, we have to make different valuations based upon what we have. But when things were straight up, if we lost someone we lost them to a program we want to be in the same conversation with. I think that’s happening now with recruiting, too. We’re in the conversation with some schools we want to be in the conversation with. I think we did an excellent job.”



“Again, you can’t underestimate — revenue sharing hasn’t started so just to get guys here just a tremendous investment by the Peed family and 1890 and all the people who give to 1890 because what everyone did is they basically surged ahead this spring. I know schools that spent a ton of money on this spring — and we have, too to get the roster to the point where we have with rev share. 1890’s been amazing to us. It’s allowed us to be competitive,” Rhule also added. “I think we all saw in the College Football Playoff, the people who spent the most, got the most. I’ve been saying that since I got here. It’s kind of real, right?”

“So, I think that we’re competitive and the building, if you come here and visit, the building is really good. Even in normal recruiting now, like I’m in high schools now and I’m talking to players and it’s maybe the third time they’ve seen me in their high school and they’ve been here five times. It wasn’t like I was in college football and got here. I was in the NFL, so I didn’t necessarily know all these guys,” Rhule finally concluded.

<h2>Rhule expresses his intention to improve the special teams</h2>



Special teams have been a major headache for the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nebraska">Cornhuskers</a> in recent seasons. With the arrival of Mike Ekeler as coordinator, Rhule believes that improvement in this area is possible in the short term.



“I’m always very protective of our players,” <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/matt-rhule">Matt Rhule</a> said. “But I’ll be quite honest, I think even in the interviews, I don’t think anything was wrong schematically last year. I think a lot of our problems stemmed at the snapper position. Once that happens, you’re trying to compensate for things, and I love those guys, but it was just not a good year from that perspective. You think about scheme, you think about all these things, but really at the end of the day, it comes down to technique and fundamentals. So, when something at the very core is not right, then the elements all around it aren’t right.”


 


“I would love to go from being – you know, I look at special teams like you’re either net neutral where you’re not winning or losing the game on it, or you’re losing the game on it or winning it. You think back to Wisconsin, which was a great game for us, we played really well on special teams. Opening kickoff 60 yards, we made some plays on special teams, and all of a sudden it opened the game up,” Rhule also added.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will look for redemption starting next season in the NCAAF, with their most recent memory being a bitter loss in the National Championship Game. Marcus Freeman is slowly starting to shape his roster and he will be without a key player, who has made the decision to join Dylan Raiola and the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nebraska">Nebraska Cornhuskers</a>.


 


Offensive lineman Rocco Spindler, after entering the Transfer Portal, will ultimately join <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/matt-rhule">Matt Rhule</a>‘s squad, seeking a fresh start in his career. During his time with the Irish, Spindler played 1,325 snaps and still has one year of eligibility remaining.



The news was confirmed by <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a> insider Pete Nakos, who, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account @PeteNakos_, reported the arrival of the OL to assist <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dylan-raiola">Raiola</a> in improving his last campaign.



“Notre Dame transfer offensive lineman Rocco Spindler has committed to Nebraska, his agency @netsportsmgmt tells @On3sports. Picked the Cornhuskers over Indiana, Pitt and Virginia,” Nakos stated.

Tyler Merrill becomes the new face of Notre Dame, turning down offers from Clemson, Alabama, Wisconsin, and in-state Penn State. The news was reported by college football insider Hayes Fawcett through his official X account.

Not all news is bad for Marcus Freeman. In recent hours, it was announced that Chris Ash will join his staff as the new defensive coordinator for Notre Dame. Following the announcement, Freeman shared a message with the press about the addition.


 


“Chris’ experience of coordinating and leading great defensive units at multiple places really resonated with me,” Freeman started. “His experience both in the NFL and as a head coach are valuable assets he can bring to our program. Chris has a great reputation of being a coach who builds strong relationships, while simultaneously developing his players, and that makes him a great fit for this role.”

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of those teams that, when a new <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">NCAAF</a> season begins, are always considered title contenders. Looking ahead, Matt Rhule knows he will need to demand 100% from his roster, and he is heavily relying on what Dylan Raiola can bring to the team.


 


Nebraska’s head coach spoke with the press about his expectations for the upcoming offseason, placing particular emphasis on the performance of his quarterback. He stressed the importance of taking small steps to ultimately achieve big goals.



“Before he can make it his team, I think he has to make it his offense. Before he makes it his offense, I think he has to make it his receiving corps,” Rhule said. “I went to the Supernova game last night, and he’s over there with Heinrich [Haarberg], and they’re sitting courtside, which is great, as long as you’re in the building this morning, throwing, which I know they were.

Matt Rhule is well aware of his QB’s abilities, which is why he firmly believes that Raiola’s near future is very promising.



“Dylan’s got to get the receivers there every day. Year 1, he’s like, ‘I asked them. Five guys showed up.’ Well, that’s not leadership,” Rhule said. “That’s trying to be a leader. Leadership is when you get everybody there.



“I think he’ll do a great job of that, at the same time, mastering himself, getting quicker, getting his weight to a proper weight, continue to learn the offense, mastering his fundamentals.”
