Ben Simmons is currently part of the Philadelphia 76ers and the player is ready to continue defending those colors for several years to come. The Australian point guard has the potential to be one of the best players in the league but that doesn’t mean his spot in Philly is secured.

A lot has been said about Simmons’ status in his current franchise, with rumors suggesting he can be part of a trade to bring James Harden to Philadelphia and send him to Houston to play with the Rockets.

Simmons doesn’t like all those rumors and he recently talked about that, making it clear that his focus is to play with the Sixers and every day he wakes up, the goal is to do the best to help his team reach the NBA Finals and win a title.

Ben Simmons doesn’t think about James Harden rumors, says his goal is to win with Philadelphia

Simmons is very clear on what he wants to achieve with his franchise and he’s not changing that. The talented player doesn’t even think about rumors and he’s ready to win a ‘ship with his first and only team in the association. Per Tim Bontemps of ESPN, Simmons isn’t changing his mentality entering a new season.

“Every day I wake up, every time I got a Sixers uniform on, I’m representing the Sixers. So my mentality never changes.”

“I’m here to win a championship. That goal is never gonna change. I know things are always going to be said in the media, and rumors and things like that, but my goal is to come in every day and get better and help the team that I’m on win a championship.”

Ben has been criticized for the lack of chemistry he’s shown with Joel Embiid in recent seasons. This season appears to be a crucial one for him and his team and the result they have will define the future of the two stars.

Simmons doesn’t have any intentions to go to another team and he’s made it clear. It remains to be seen if the Sixers management is one the same page as the player and give it another run before deciding to split the Embiid-Simmons duo for good.
