The Denver Nuggets have now lost three straight after their 125-112 defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. The Mile High team dropped to 12-11 on the season and sits eighth in the Western Conference. The Nuggets managed to score 42 points in the first quarter, but they also gave up 37. As the game progressed the Nuggets failed to score and began to give up points, giving up 34 in the third quarter. Nikola Jokić once again carried most of the weight with 35 points and 12 rebounds, but the defensive lapses did not help Jokić’s standout performance. Giannis Antetokounmpo was all over the Nuggets defense hitting them for 30 points and 12 rebounds on the night, while Khris Middleton also drove the Nuggets defense crazy with 29 points and 12 assists.

Nuggets coach, Michael Malone, lamented the team’s performance after the opening quarter. “We still find ourselves trying to figure out how to be a team that plays a lot better in the second half,” he said in the post-game press conference. Point guard Jamal Murray also gave his verdict on what has been going on to the Nuggets this season, “We’re not getting back, we’re not talking enough, we’re just not being good enough. We do it for stints, we do it for parts of the game, but we’re not withstanding for the lengths that we need to. Our offense isn’t keeping up the way that we normally do,” Murray said.

Despite the early start the Nuggets averaged only 27.3 in accuracy in the second quarter and were out rebound 50-38, showing the team’s lack of composure when it comes to defense. Fans, who are visibly angry at the team’s drop in form went at them on social media.

The Nuggets fans did not hold back requesting the front office bring in a player that can live in the team up. Coach Michael Malone also felt the fans’ fury.

For the Nuggets, the time for redemption now comes on Wednesday where they will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at home. The Cavs are tenth in the East with a 10-15 record, an opponent the Nuggets could beat to get off the hump.
