Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the most sought-after player in the NBA offseason. Even though he’s not a free agent, every team in the league has been doing the necessary to lure Giannis away from the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks didn’t have the best performance in the 2020 NBA playoffs after finishing the regular season with the best record in the league. Giannis has been linked with several teams after the Bucks were dominated by the Miami Heat in the bubble, including the Warriors, Raptors, Heat and even the Lakers.
While it looks like everybody is trying to recruit Giannis, the Greek Freak is now taking the reins of the situation and has started to name the players he wants to play with on Milwaukee, dropping some interesting names.
Giannis says he wants to play with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant on Bucks
During a recent interview with Cosmote TV, the back-to-back NBA MVP revealed that he’d be happy to have LeBron James, Anthony Davis and even Kevin Durant as teammates, as long as they go play in Milwaukee, something unthinkable for these players.
“If LeBron, KD, or AD want to join me in Milwaukee, I will be happy. I don’t care about being number 1, or number 2, or number 3,” Antetokounmpo said in his interview.
Of course, this is highly unlikely to happen but the player didn’t miss his chance to drop that idea, although he could have broken the NBA tampering rules with his comments. Giannis also spoke about Kobe Bryant and revealed what the Black Mamba advised him if he wanted to be successful.
“Kobe told me to sacrifice if I want to win and be great,” Antetokounmpo said.
He then doubled down on his comments regarding LeBron James, calling the King his ‘idol’ and praising him for the great things he’s done in 17 years in the league.
“LeBron is the best in the world, MVP is another story, I can tell that he is the best and my idol, he is 17 years in the League.”
Antetokounmpo is ready to take the league and the world by storm. He is that talented, still young and has a lot of room to improve. The Milwaukee Bucks star wants to win in Wisconsin, but if he can’t, he’ll probably try to team up with any of these players somewhere else.
