For decades, NBA fans, analysts, and even the media have constantly gone back-and-forth regarding the ‘who’s the greatest player of all time‘ debate, often bringing up LeBron James and Michael Jordan as the top-2 choices, regardless of the order.

James has drawn comparisons to Jordan from the very first day he made it to the spotlight as a high school wunderkind, but the fact that he decided to wear Jordan’s number – as a way to honoring him – didn’t sit well with some fans.

That’s just one of the many – dumb – reasons why LeBron’s haters have tried to demeanor his legacy. Jordan’s haters, on the other hand, ignore facts and try to talk down on his era. Obviously, both of them are biased and wrong.

LeBron James Weighs In On The GOAT Debate With Michael Jordan

That’s why, in the wake of his fourth NBA Championship, LeBron James just didn’t want to contribute to that debate and decided that it would be for the best if people just figured it out on their own:

“That’s not for me to question or wonder or debate. For me personally, I have a way that I play the game. I have a way that I lead. I have a way that I challenge my guys and myself… we call it barbershop talk,” LeBron James told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols.

“You guys know how much I love Michael Jordan. I wear No. 23 because of Michael Jordan. When I first got my first pair of Jordans, you couldn’t tell me nothin’. So, ya’ll can do the debates. Ya’ll can figure that out,” The King concluded.

There’s absolutely no need to compare eras or players. Those who witnessed Jordan and have been through LeBron’s ups and downs are blessed by having the chance to watch two of the greatest athletes to ever do it.

LeBron and Jordan both have strong arguments and résumés to back up their cases. So yeah, I guess it’s better if people just believe what they want to believe. Hopefully, one day this debate will be settled for good and people will just appreciate greatness while they can.
