The Indiana Fever will face the Las Vegas Aces tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (7 p.m. ET) in a regular-season matchup. However, the team is expected to be once again be without star guard Caitlin Clark, who remains sidelined with a right groin injury.
Clark experienced discomfort after delivering an assist to teammate Kelsey Mitchell, prompting an evaluation by the team’s training staff. Fever head coach Stephanie White confirmed the injury was to Clark’s right groin. Since then, Clark has missed two games and will now sit out a third consecutive contest.
According to IndyStar’s Chloe Peterson, Clark met with another doctor on Tuesday morning, but White said she had not yet spoken with the team’s trainers about the results. She added that there is currently no update on Clark’s condition or a potential timeline for her return.
Meanwhile, Clark addressed the setback ahead of the WNBA All-Star Game. “When the injury happened, it was pretty frustrating, considering, I knew what the coming days were gonna hold for myself,” she said. “But I feel like dealing with that, and then also just like trying to look at it in the most positive manner that I can… I think just it all comes back to having a good perspective on everything.”
The injury is the latest in a challenging season for the Fever guard, who had not missed a single game throughout her college or rookie WNBA year. In 2025, however, Clark has already missed 12 of Indiana’s 23 games due to a series of muscle-related injuries.
Clark’s injuries this season
Clark was previously sidelined by a left quad strain on May 24, which forced her out of five games. She then suffered a left groin injury on June 26, missing another five contests. This left groin injury, sustained on July 15, marks her third separate injury this season and her fourth muscle ailment overall.
Fever’s season without their star
Clark’s absence has had an impact on Indiana’s performance. With her in the lineup, the Fever are 8-6 in regular season play. Without her, they are 4-6 in the regular season.
Meanwhile, Clark’s physical problems have impacted her performance too. In 13 games played this year, she is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists. Meanwhile, last season, she averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.
