The road to the gold medal in the U-23 Men’s soccer tournament at the Tokyo Olympics has been an emotional one and on Friday and Saturday it all ends with the bronzemedal match between Mexico – Japan and the gold medal match between Brazil – Spain. Both games are extremely tight making the right betting choices will be key in these two games.

For Brazil – Spain it is a tale of two teams that have the talent but have looked less than impressive during the knockout phase of the tournament. Spain had a wild game against the Ivory Coast and needed extra time to defeat Japan to get to the gold medal match. Brazil scored only 1 goal against Egypt and needed penalties to defeat Mexico.

For the bronzemedal, it’s right down the middle according to DraftKings, as Mexico and Japan had very different roads to their respective clash, with Japan not scoring a goal and Mexico having a barnburner against South Korea. Here are some of the betting options for both matches for the Men’s Olympic Finals.

Brazil is at +175 and Spain at +195, while Brazil is the favorite, Spain is very close, and it makes the final very interesting. Spain seems the most complete side of the two, but Brazil has firepower, and it could make for an up and down contest.

If you want to open up other options than an outright bet, placing a wager that Spain will score the first goal of the match is paying out +120, to Brazil’s +110. Brazil is paying out +260 if they are up by the half. In one of the most difficult to pick gold medal games in recent memory, using other options could help the bettor win more money than an outright. One thing is for certain, whoever the bettor bets on it’s sure to have interesting winnings.

Japan – Mexico

Japan – Mexico is even tighter as both teams’ clock in at +160, both teams seem to be evenly matched but look for Mexico to play their typical “all or nothing” attacking style to put Japan away early in the match. Japan has been light in terms of goals in the knockout stages and that could do them in.

Mexico seems like the smarter choice and the bettor could even cash in on picking Mexico to be up by the end of the first half, at +215. Mexico can score goals against the right opponent and this match has the makings where Mexico can open the flood gates at +215 betting that the match will end over 3.5 goals could be a smart option.
