Los Angeles Dodgers star Trevor Bauer is used to being in the spotlight. Heās outspoken and doesnāt shy away from controversy, which is why heās one of the biggest characters in all of Major League Baseball.
Nonetheless, heās recently been all over the news for the wrong reasons, as a woman accused him of sexual assault and even tried to file a restraining order against him. Obviously, he hasnāt been allowed to pitch ever since.
Bauer and his camp alleged that the woman is just trying to shake him down and frame him with false evidence. And, whether thatās true or not, at least he got a big win on the court a couple of days ago.
Judge Denies Restraining Order Against Trevor Bauer
According to a report by Steve Henson of the LA Times, a judge denied the restraining order petition against him. So, while itās unclear what effect will that have on his paid leave, itās clearly a positive sign for him.
āThe court denies the request for a long-term restraining order. Judge: āIf she set limits and he exceeded them, this case would be clear. But he did not exceed limits she set.ā . . . Bauer won the hearing. Totally unclear what it means to MLB or to potential criminal charges,ā tweeted Henson.
Bauer Breaks The Silence
A couple of days ago, the Cy Young Award winner broke the silence regarding his current situation. He addressed some of the allegations made by The Washington Post to try and clear his name:
āWhile I have allowed my representatives to speak on my behalf over the last six weeks, I can no longer be silent. I will speak very candidly about the current petition when appropriate, but need to address the allegations made today in The Washington Post,ā Bauer tweeted along with some pictures.
While the criminal charges havenāt been dropped as of now, Bauerās camp has shared proof that doesnāt exactly make his accuser look good. For now, it seems like itās only a matter of time before heās reinstated and back on the mound.
