Three years after trading him to the Chicago Bulls along with other players for Jimmy Butler, the Minnesota Timberwolves could bring Zach LaVine back.

The Minnesota Timberwolveshave made some questionable decisions throughout the course of their history, especially when it comes to the NBA Draft. That’s why some of their fans are wary about what they could do with their 1st overall pick this year.

The Timberwolves could land a potential star like Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball in this year’s Draft. However, given how unorthodox this year has been and the fact that there’s no such thing as a ā€˜can’t-miss talent’, they could be better off trading away their pick.

And, according to Ben Beecken of Locked on Wolves Podcast, they could try and find the way to move that pick to get a former Timberwolf in return, no other than Chicago Bulls’ star Zach LaVine.

2020 NBA Draft: Minnesota Timberwolves Could Trade For Zach LaVine

ā€œThe Wolves could probably get a trade done to acquire Zach LaVine. He does a lot of the same stuff as Malik Beasley. He’s got a quick release, he’s athletic, he’s great in transition, he’s a really good transition three-point shooter, and he gets to the rim a little bit better and more often than Beasley,ā€Beecken said.

The Timberwolves actually took Zach LaVine with the 13th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft and helped him blossom but traded him away to get Jimmy Butler. Then, LaVine broke out as one of the most promising scorers in the league in Chicago.

The Bulls have been quite vocal about their desire to keep Zach LaVine around for the long run. Then again, they’re a rebuilding team and having the first and fourth overall picks in this year’s Draft would certainly make him consider moving the UCLA product.

However, it seems like LaVine is far from being what Minnesota needs. He’s an explosive offensive player but is far from a good defender. Also, his fit next to D’Angelo Russell is questionable, to say the least.
