Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal has been tied to multiple teams over the past couple of seasons, as his team has struggled to compete at the highest level even despite his outstanding performances.

The Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets, and more recently Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly made Beal one of their priorities for the offseason as they look to add more firepower for the 2021 campaign.

However, Beal has always stated his desire to stay at the nation’s capital and even signed a huge contract extension rather than push for a trade despite his team not being suited to contend.

And now that the Lakers are reportedly back in the race to acquire more talents, Beal was quick to shut down that narrative of a potential move on his appearance in the ā€œOn the Road with Buck & Philā€ podcast, claiming that he wants to finish his career with the Wizards:

ā€œThat would mean the world, man. I’m a loyal guy. I want to be here. I’m here. I’ve signed my extension. And that will mean the world to me. That honestly would you know, being able to finish your career in one place? You know, you don’t see that in today’s game,ā€ Beal said.

Beal added that his goal is to lead the Washington Wizards to an NBA Championship and that he’s fully confident in his team’s ability to become a contender with the core they have right now:

ā€œSo that would definitely be an honor, you know, but my ultimate goal is to win. I want to win and we got to win. And I know we can win. I know it’s a place where we can win and I know it’s a place where we can get guys to come here to win. But we got to go prove it on the floor for sure,ā€ he concluded.

John Wall is finally back at full strength and Beal is coming off a career year, so the Wizards are definitely going to be better going forward. However, they still got a ways to go before being ready to compete for a ring.
