The Brooklyn Nets are one of the scariest teams in the NBA right now. They feature arguably the greatest scoring trio of all time in Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have to figure out how to coexist.

Harden has looked great when playing just with Durant but his numbers have taken a massive dip ever since Kyrie came back from his break. That, plus the lack of defenders and depth have hurt the Nets from stretches.

Then again, Harden doesn’t seem worried about his numbers and hasn’t hesitated to take a step back and accept a lesser role for the sake of the team, which is remarkable given his rĆ©sumĆ© and pedigree on the league.

Kevin Durant Says James Harden Is Like A Kid Transferred To A New School

Still, Kevin Durant doesn’t seem worried whatsoever about his friend and teammate. According to him, it’s just a matter of time before he starts getting the hold of the offense and go back to his usual self:

ā€œFeels like he just transferred to a new school and he’s trying to figure out the curriculum,ā€ Durant started. ā€œAnd it’s going to take some time to figure out who your teammates are, what your rotations are in the game, when to be aggressive, when to score, pass. (…) As a scorer and the focal point of your offense, sometimes the balance between score and pass — you got to figure that out each night,ā€ he concluded.

Well, he’s definitely got a point there. Yeah, there are some basic sets that are common to all basketball offenses but he’s still figuring out things on the go. Great players are able to do that and he hasn’t disappointed thus far.

It’s normal to think that he’s not going to be the 35+ points-per-game scorer he was during his days in Houston now that he’s sharing touches with two top-tier scorers but at least, he’s giving up some shots for a true chance at winning his first-ever NBA championship.
