This is why LeBron James is the best scorer of all time

Even though he's never been considered a pure scorer, LeBron James has enough arguments on his resume to be considered the greatest scorer in NBA history.

When we talk about the greatest scorers of all time, LeBron James’ name isn’t likely to pop into our heads right away. We know he’s one of the best players in NBA history but for some reason, we still don’t think of him as a scorer.

We can say that James is the most complete player of all time, the best passing forward ever, or even the best regular-season performer in the history of the Association. But, for some reason, we never talk about him as a scorer.

Well, truth be told, the Los Angeles Lakers star is actually the most consistent scorer to ever lace them up, as he proved it by putting up his NBA-record 17th season averaging 25+ points per game.

LeBron James Is The Most Consistent Scorer Of All Time

To put this in context, LeBron has 5 more seasons with at least 25 points per game than the next guy. Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and Karl Malone only did it 12 times; as per StatMuse.

If that wasn’t enough, James also owns several scoring-related records, both in the regular season and the playoffs, including the most points scored in the postseason and more games with 20 and 30 points.

LeBron Reacts To His Record-Breaking Season

LeBron clapped back at his haters and those who – like us – never thought of him as a true scorer because of his pass-first mentality, claiming that he’s pretty comfortable with that definition:

“Since I was 19 years old! And I’m a pass first guy. Always been. That’s why I’m never mentioned with the greats of scoring huh?? That’s perfect cause I’d rather keep it that way!” The King tweeted.

Barring injury, LeBron James is on pace to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record and become the league’s all-time leading scorer and the most impressive thing about this is that he’s a career 50.4% scorer despite being a perimeter player. That’s unmatched efficiency for a guy in his position.
