For decades, NBA fans, analysts, and even the media have constantly gone back-and-forth regarding the âwhoâs the greatest player of all timeâ debate, often bringing up LeBron James and Michael Jordan as the top-2 choices, regardless of the order.
James has drawn comparisons to Jordan from the very first day he made it to the spotlight as a high school wunderkind, but the fact that he decided to wear Jordanâs number â as a way to honoring him â didnât sit well with some fans.
Thatâs just one of the many â dumb â reasons why LeBronâs haters have tried to demeanor his legacy. Jordanâs haters, on the other hand, ignore facts and try to talk down on his era. Obviously, both of them are biased and wrong.
LeBron James Weighs In On The GOAT Debate With Michael Jordan
Thatâs why, in the wake of his fourth NBA Championship, LeBron James just didnât want to contribute to that debate and decided that it would be for the best if people just figured it out on their own:
âThatâs not for me to question or wonder or debate. For me personally, I have a way that I play the game. I have a way that I lead. I have a way that I challenge my guys and myself⊠we call it barbershop talk,â LeBron James told ESPNâs Rachel Nichols.
âYou guys know how much I love Michael Jordan. I wear No. 23 because of Michael Jordan. When I first got my first pair of Jordans, you couldnât tell me nothinâ. So, yaâll can do the debates. Yaâll can figure that out,â The King concluded.
Thereâs absolutely no need to compare eras or players. Those who witnessed Jordan and have been through LeBronâs ups and downs are blessed by having the chance to watch two of the greatest athletes to ever do it.
LeBron and Jordan both have strong arguments and rĂ©sumĂ©s to back up their cases. So yeah, I guess itâs better if people just believe what they want to believe. Hopefully, one day this debate will be settled for good and people will just appreciate greatness while they can.
