Everyone still wants to be like Mike, and that seems to be the case in an auction in Las Vegas where a record was established for a pair of sneakers worn by one of the best players in NBA history. Michael Jordan, to many the greatest NBA player of all time, began his legendary career in 1984 and would delight the world on a basketball court for years to come.

Jordan would go on to win 6 NBA championships, along with 5 NBA MVP, and 6 NBA Final MVP trophies. MJ was a 14-time all-star and in his career averaged 30 points per game.

Now in Las Vegas, high-end card collector Nick Fiorella has purchased a piece of NBA history as a pair of Nike Air Ships were sold at the Sotheby’s Icons of Excellence & Haute Luxury auction, and it shattered the record for most expensive game-worn footwear sold.
