Nikola Jokic is having the best season of his career in both scoring and playmaking. Despite this, the debate over who deserves the title of the NBA’s best player is only growing. Analysts and former players continue to weigh in as the season progresses. Recently, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins joined the conversation. His comments added even more fuel to the ongoing discussion among fans and experts.

“Are we sure that Nikola Jokic is the best player in the league?…I would have to say right now today that LeBron James is the best player in the NBA… LeBron James is getting it done at the age of 40 on both ends of the floor,” stated Kendrick Perkins on ESPN.

LeBron James is still standing out on his 21st season. The NBA veteran is averaging 24.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game. His impact extends to every facet of the game. Also, the Lakers are thriving, and James continues to perform at an elite level. Many believe he has a real shot at winning. If the Lakers win the NBA championship, LeBron’s MVP case will get even stronger.

He was also able to fit Reaves, Doncic and LeBron in the same scheme without losing the balance of the team.
