Despite being 37 years old, Stephen Curry continues to lead the Golden State Warriors and excel on offense. While not physically imposing, his athleticism has enabled him to enjoy a lengthy professional career. Having achieved everything and established himself as one of the greatest players in NBA history, many fans wonder about his true motivation. In his latest interview, Curry revealed what drives him forward.

“I truly believe we can be championship relevant in the sense of we’re probably not going to be the favorite in any conversation, but we have a team that’s capable of achieving that level again – knowing all that we’ve been through over the last 13 years and those four trophies over there. So to add to that would be amazing and I think it’s realistic to build towards that. I think for me that’s literally the only thing I’m playing for at this point,” Stephen Curry said, via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Although the first part of the 2024-25 season was quite inconsistent, the arrival of Jimmy Butler brought stability back in every sense. With Butler’s addition, Curry’s performance soared once again, averaging 24.5 points, 6 assists, and 4.4 rebounds over 70 games. He posted an impressive shooting percentage of 44.8% from the field and 39.7% from three-point range.

Although the Warriors successfully pursued key players in the offseason, the spotlight now shifts to head coach Steve Kerr. After last season’s perplexing performance, fans have voiced concerns about the veteran coach’s roster management. The primary issue stems from over-reliance on veterans, which leads to minimal rotation. However, Kerr has the opportunity to quell the fans’ criticism with strategic changes.
