The Buffalo Bills‘ hope of reaching a Super Bowl remains intact, despite the recent setback following their loss to the Chiefs last NFL season. To help achieve this goal, the front office ensured the retention of a key player on the roster, who will continue assisting Josh Allen in the pursuit of the championship.
Good news has arrived for Sean McDermott’s defense, as it has been confirmed that the talented Christian Benford will remain with the franchise for four more years, after agreeing to a lucrative contract extension worth $76 million.
The news was announced by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, who, through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, revealed the agreement between the former Villanova player and one of the top contenders in the AFC East.
“The #Bills and standout CB Christian Benford agreed to terms on a 4-year, $76M extension per agent @HadleyEngelhard of @EnterSportsMgmt,” the Insider reported via @RapSheet.

Christian Benford #47 of the Buffalo Bills looks on against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on October 27, 2024 in Seattle, Washington.
Selected with the 185th pick in the 6th round of the 2022 draft, Benford slowly earned his place in McDermott’s consideration, playing 15 games during the last regular season, all as a starter, recording one sack and two interceptions.

The key renewals for the Bills
The recent news regarding the renewal of talented cornerback Benford in Buffalo adds to a list of significant agreements secured in Orchard Park, all with the primary goal of leading the team to the next Super Bowl.
Undoubtedly, the most significant deal was that of the current league MVP, Josh Allen, who, after lengthy negotiations, finalized a multimillion-dollar agreement with the Bills that ties him to the franchise for another six years, in exchange for $330 million.
Also joining the list are contract extensions for linebacker Terrell Bernard and edge rusher Gregory Rousseau, both securing four more years with the team. With these moves, it’s clear that Sean McDermott now has a solid foundation to continue making strides in the NFL.
