The Los Angeles Rams have one main goal this 2025 NFL season: to become the team that, years ago, reached and even won the Super Bowl. Retaining Matthew Stafford was one of the big objectives for Sean McVay’s squad, though it seems they might not be able to do the same with one of his teammates. An NFC North team is interested in acquiring an experienced offensive lineman.
Veteran OL Jonah Jackson is reportedly all set to become a new player for the Chicago Bears and join Caleb Williams’ team for the upcoming season. In return, the Los Angeles team will receive a sixth-round pick in this year’s draft.
The news was reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who, through his X (formerly Twitter) account @AdamSchefter, revealed more details about the trade between the Rams and Bears.
“Trade: Rams are in the process of sending veteran offensive lineman Jonah Jackson to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick, per ESPN’s @CourtneyRCronin. The trade cannot be processed until March 12,” Schefter reported.

Jonah Jackson #72 of the Los Angeles Rams warms up before the game against the Philadelphia Eagles during the NFC Divisional Playoff at Lincoln Financial Field on January 19, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
If this move goes through, Ben Johnson’s team will add experience to their roster, while the Rams secure a solid pick for the upcoming NFL Draft, set to take place at the end of April.

The Rams are looking to continue strengthening their roster
To achieve great goals, a talented roster is required in every position. This is what Sean McVay is aiming for, who, ahead of what’s to come, revealed which player he wants the Rams to sign after securing Matthew Stafford.
In a recent conversation with the press, the Los Angeles coach mentioned there is one particular player he wants on his team for the next season, and it is none other than QB Jimmy Garoppolo, who served as a backup during the 2024 season.
“We would love to bring him back,” the HC via Pro Football Talk. “I obviously have been very busy working through the Matthew [Stafford] situation. That’s the hope and anticipation.
“Now, you guys know that there might be some other interest and Jimmy’s earned the right to be able to have that type of interest. But yes, if you said, would I want Jimmy back here to be able to work in the quarterback room with [quarterbacks coach] Dave Ragone and Matthew and those guys? The answer is absolutely yes.”
