The newly appointed head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers was officially introduced, and from now on, the focus will shift to retaining key players on the roster. Mike McCarthy spoke to the media and addressed Aaron Rodgers’ future as the Steelers’ QB1 in Steel City.

Both protagonists share a rich history together, having won a Super Bowl during their time with the Green Bay Packers. So the question on everyone’s mind is whether McCarthy will indeed want Rodgers in his plans.

“Definitely. I don’t see why you wouldn’t,” the HC said as Tom Pelissero reported via X. Additionally, McCarthy revealed that he has spoken with Rodgers but knows that the QB needs some time away to consider his future.

A Pittsburgh native, McCarthy returns home to lead a franchise that has seen only three coaches since 1969, bringing a championship pedigree and a reputation for quarterback development.

As he steps into the void left by Tomlin’s no losing seasons legacy, McCarthy faces the immediate challenge of modernizing the offense and ending the team’s nearly decade-long playoff win drought.
