Aaron Glenn is the new captain of the ship for the New York Jets, who will once again look to make their mark in the AFC East and, why not, dream of going even further. Breece Hall was a standout running back last NFL season, but his role could be affected following the latest statements from his coach.
While the talented running back is highly regarded by the new coaching staff, Glenn wants to implement a greater rotation in this department, giving more opportunities to Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis as well.
“I think, mentally, [Hall] is in a good place, but I would say that we have three running backs on this team that we’re going to utilize as much as possible,” the former Lions DC said, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini. “They’re all big men, they can run, they’re violent, they’re physical.
“So I think once we get a chance to get the players in and see exactly how they operate, I think every player is going to be happy with the way that we go about this offense, and I think he’s going to be one of them.”

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is introduced to the media at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center on January 27, 2025 in Florham Park, New Jersey.
How do Glenn’s comments affect Hall’s situation?
Since his arrival in the NFL, Breece Hall’s production has slowly declined in terms of his statistics. Last year, serving as a key weapon for Aaron Rodgers, the RB rushed for 876 yards, scoring just 5 touchdowns in 16 games played.

That being said, it’s worth noting that Glenn comes from an organization like the Detroit Lions, where rotation was a common practice. The fact that he wants to implement this routine with the Jets could be seen by Hall as detrimental to his career, especially now, at a time when he will become a free agent next year.
The former Iowa State player is one of three players on the franchise, alongside Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson, who had serious intentions of pursuing a lucrative contract extension in New York. It will be a matter of seeing how Hall reacts to all these changes, and whether he adapts and stays with the team, or if he eventually seeks a way out.
