In recent years, the Lions have emerged as a true contender in the NFC. While the team has yet to capture a title, it feels like they’re on the verge of something big. However, they’re now facing a significant offseason rebuild that could shift their trajectory.

Over the past few months, the Lions have lost both their defensive and offensive coordinators. Now, Dan Campbell has addressed Aaron Glenn’s departure—with a direct jab at the Jets following his move to New York.

Following a strong 2024 NFL season, the Lions were prepared for a tough offseason. The NFC North club knew other teams would look to poach key pieces from their coaching staff in hopes of replicating Detroit’s success.

It was no surprise that Aaron Glenn was one of the most sought-after candidates. Several teams pursued the defensive coordinator, but it was the New York Jets who ultimately landed him as their next head coach.

Dan Campbell admitted that Glenn’s departure leaves a significant void, but he remains confident the Lions will continue to thrive. However, he didn’t hold back when addressing the team that hired him.

According to Campbell, Glenn is a top-tier coach, and the Jets should feel lucky to have him. But he also added a pointed remark—saying that if Aaron Glenn can’t turn things around for the Jets, then no one can.

ā€œAs long as he’s got the support, A.G. will turn that thing around,ā€ Campbell said. ā€œThere’s no question. He’s an unbelievable leader and he’s an even better person. He’s the type of guy who makes people rally around him and do things to help him have success. So he is going to bring the right type of people around him. He’s already done that with the coaches and he’ll bring the right kind of players. Look, if he can’t, nobody can, that’s my opinion.ā€
