Aaron Rodgers has confirmed that he would like to retire as a member of the Green Bay Packers if the opportunity arises. Although the quarterback intends to keep playing, possibly with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he doesnāt rule out a symbolic one-day return to the franchise where he built his legacy.
āIāve thought about that and I donāt understand what the reason for that is (one-day contract). At the same time, I grew up a 49ers fan and most of my favorite players retired as a 49ers. So, I understand the cool thing about it, but, if I didnāt do it, would that make a difference in how Iām viewed in the Packersā eyes?ā
Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks in franchise history, alongside Bart Starr and Brett Favre. In addition to being named NFL MVP four times, he led the team to a Super Bowl victory during the 2010 season.
Is Aaron Rodgers retiring?
No. Aaron Rodgers is not retiring from football, but he did speak about the possibility of returning to the Packers after a fan asked him during a live event in Austin.
The quarterback admitted he would take part in the festivities in Green Bay if there are any tributes when he retires, and heās open to signing a one-day contract.

āWhen I retire, in four years, Iām going to go into the Packers Hall of Fame. May or may not get my number retired. Whether they do it or not, thatās fine, but, in four years, Iāll be in the Packers Hall of Fame. Iāll come back. Thereās a lot of love from me and how I feel about the team. If I do or if I donāt, I donāt think it should make a difference. Iām not sure yet. If they approach me about it, I probably would (retire as a Packer).ā
