NFL News: Aaron Rodgers might have reportedly found George Pickens’ replacement for Steelers

After the shock trade of George Pickens to the Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Steelers are on the hunt for a new No. 2 wide receiver. Reports suggest the future Hall of Fame quarterback might have already found the perfect replacement, a player who has earned his trust and could bring added firepower to the Steelers' offense.

Aaron Rodgers could be key for the Pittsburgh Steelers to find a replacement for George Pickens after the star wide receiver was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. According to a report by Mike Florio, one name is starting to stand out for Mike Tomlin’s team.

“Aaron Rodgers could be getting the gang back together in Pittsburgh. Well, part of it. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Jets receiver Allen Lazard is ‘in play’ to be traded to the Steelers. Why Lazard? Because Rodgers completely and totally trusts him. And Lazard, for whatever reason, performs much better with Rodgers than he does without him.”

After Pickens’ departure, the Steelers seem to have taken a step back in their pursuit of returning to the Super Bowl, and, as has happened in recent years, their depth chart once again has a huge gap without a star No. 2 wide receiver.

Who will replace George Pickens with Steelers?

Allen Lazard has been seen as a strong option to replace George Pickens due to his close friendship with Aaron Rodgers. This led the quarterback to convince the Jets to bring the wide receiver to New York.

However, there are other options on the market with better accolades than Lazard, such as Keenan Allen, Gabe Davis, and Amari Cooper. It will be interesting to see if, as has happened with other teams, Rodgers has the final say.
