Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have had a very complicated week at training camp. Obviously, all the attention is on Micah Parsons and the dispute over securing a contract extension, but injuries have also become a problem.
This Friday, the team confirmed that offensive lineman Rob Jones was placed on Injured Reserve. This means the player will officially be out for the entire 2025 season after being signed last March to add depth to the unit responsible for protecting Dak Prescott.
Jones entered the NFL in 2021 as an undrafted free agent and joined the Miami Dolphins, where he played four seasons. Now, a broken bone in his neck will prevent him from helping the Cowboys.
Who did the Cowboys just sign?
In addition to the loss of Rob Jones, the Cowboys announced that they have signed running back Malik Davis. Last season, the teamâs running game was one of the most criticized aspects after they let Tony Pollard go and did not make an offer to acquire Derrick Henry.
Davis played college football with the Florida Gators from 2017 to 2021 and, as a professional, his entire career has been with the Dallas Cowboys, alternating between the practice squad and the active roster at different times. This will be a new opportunity for him to establish himself.
