Jerry Jones made a shocking revelation about Micah Parsons during an exclusive interview with Michael Irvin. The Cowboys owner confirmed that when he offered the largest amount of guaranteed money in NFL history, the playerâs agent gave him an incredible response.
âWhen we wanted to send the details to the agent, the agent told us to stick it up our *ss. Just so youâre clear. Nobody appreciates Micah Parsons more than the Cowboys or me. Nobody has ever offered him more money than I have to play football. Period.â
At the moment, the Dallas Cowboys and Parsons are at a stalemate. The player has already submitted a trade request, could sit out regular-season games, and has deleted any content related to the team from his social media accounts.
Is Micah Parsons a free agent?
Micah Parsons is not a free agent. The player is in the final year of his rookie deal and is therefore seeking a historic contract extension. However, Jones warned that he is in no hurry threatening to prolong the negotiation given Parsonsâ agentâs stance.
âWeâve really got three years to work this thing out. Itâs a basic contract. Itâs there to go. I did that with Dak and we couldnât agree. So, Dak played his last year of his contract. Then, we franchised him. Itâs exactly what happened with Dak and we moved forward. Ultimately, we got a contract and made Dak the highest-paid player in the NFL. So, the precedent is handling it like Dak. If he doesnât, itâs very costly. Itâs very costly for everybody.â
