The most recent NFL dynasties, the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots, have many things in common. First and foremost, legendary quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.
Then, the masterminds with historic head coaches: Andy Reid and Bill Belichick. Of course, another major similarity is tight ends who will become future Hall of Famers: Travis Kelce and Rob Gronkowski.
In addition to a strong offensive supporting cast, a key factor in being perennial Super Bowl contenders in both cases was the defense. Finally, perhaps the most controversial ingredients: rumors pointing to alleged help from referees and a growing sense of animosity because fans are tired of seeing them win.
What was the best NFL dynasty?
Undoubtedly, Tom Brady’s New England Patriots lead the discussion on which is the best NFL dynasty, having won six Super Bowls in what clearly should be considered two different eras.
However, the Kansas City Chiefs have very strong arguments, with three Super Bowl victories and having come just one win shy of becoming the first team in history to achieve a three-peat.

Are the Chiefs better than the Patriots?
In this context, during the first episodes of ESPN’s original series The Kingdom, Chris Jones admitted that, to his surprise, many fans and experts expect the downfall of the Chiefs, similar to what happened with Brady’s Patriots.
“We became the new age Patriots. We used to be so loved. Everybody was like: ‘Yeah, we love the Chiefs.’ Now, it’s like: ‘I’m tired of the Chiefs winning. Somebody else needs to win.’ Then, you’ve got some that’s like: ‘Man, I feel like the Chiefs cheated.’ I don’t know why everybody be waiting on our downfall. It’s become a norm now.”
