Will Howard has begun his journey as a new player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the team waits for Aaron Rodgers, the rookie expressed excitement about playing for Mike Tomlin and possibly receiving a chance to start.
“Everything kinda fell into place. As the Draft went on, you never know where you’re going to end up, but, you keep a little spot in your heart for where you really wanna go, and I had a little soft spot for Pittsburgh. I was hoping in my heart that they pick me. I’m blessed. I could not be in a better place. Pittsburgh is going to get my all every single day.”
The Steelers are looking for the franchise quarterback that will turn them into Super Bowl contenders, but according to several reports, that name might be found in the 2026 Draft. However, Howard wants to make them change their mind.
Who will be Steelers starting QB?
Aaron Rodgers is the priority to be the starting quarterback for the Steelers, and if that doesn’t materialize, Mason Rudolph would take the reins for the upcoming season due to his strong familiarity with the team.
Howard will patiently learn on the bench and expressed excitement about the many connections with Pittsburgh. “I think everything. The culture, it just fits who I am as a person and who I am as a player. It’s close to home. I’ve got a lot of connections to Pittsburgh. Coach Tomlin, I wanted to play for him. I knew Coach Smith, he recruited me in Akron. I got a lot of connections with him.”
