Xavier Worthy, through his legal team, has released his first public statement after being arrested on Friday night in Texas. The situation of the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver is very serious.

“We are aware of the allegation that led to Mr. Worthy’s arrest. We are working with law enforcement in Williamson County to ensure they have the benefit of the totality circumstances that led to this allegation.”

Now, the big question is whether the NFL will suspend the player, which would alter the Chiefs’ plans. Although they have already signed Hollywood Brown for another year to help Patrick Mahomes, Worthy’s absence would be crucial in their pursuit of the Super Bowl.

Xavier Worthy is accused of assault against a family or household member. As a consequence, the wide receiver was arrested. This was the version of his legal team regarding what happened.

“The complainant was recently asked to vacate Mr. Worthy’s residence upon discovery of her infidelity. She has refused to do so and made a number of extortive efforts prior to resorting to this baseless allegation against Mr. Worthy. We will continue to cooperate with the Williamson County authorities as we have full faith that their thorough investigation will support Mr. Worthy’s innocence.”
