It will be a hectic 2021 for the Colombian National team as they continue the grueling CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying campaign, and the nation will co-host the 2021 Copa America with Argentina. Colombia currently sit seventh in CONMEBOL World Cup qualification and at the moment are out of the 2022 World Cup.

Colombia parted ways with Carlos Queiroz after a slow start to qualifying and put their fortunes in the hands of Reinaldo Rueda, who will coach Colombia for the second time in his career. Rueda was fired as the head coach of Chile after they also started World Cup qualifying slowly.

For Colombia it has been a rocky road since the departure of Argentine manager José Néstor Pékerman who led the team back to a World Cup and international prestige. Now in 2021 Colombia will look to climb the CONMEBOL World Cup qualification standings and they will look to win their second Copa America in the middle of the year.
