Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has revealed who he prefers between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, adding more fuel to the eternal debate of which of the two stars is the best.
“For me, you know, I love Ronaldo so much, but of course Messi is from another planet in the world of soccer,” said Kvaratskhelia while appearing in a livestream with YouTuber JasonTheWeen, who met several PSG players.
The Georgian star has always been open about his admiration for Ronaldo, and he actually has history with the Portuguese legend. In 2013, CR7 visited a soccer academy in Tbilisi, and Kvaratskhelia was among the kids who had the chance to meet him.
In 2024, when Georgia eliminated Portugal in a historic result at the 2024 Euros, Kvaratskhelia also shared that he got Ronaldo’s jersey after the match, in which he scored the opening goal of the 2-0 victory.
But while Kvaratskhelia’s admiration for Ronaldo is clear, he admitted that it’s hard to choose between the Portuguese and the Argentinian. “I think that when you love soccer, you cannot choose one. Both of them are crazy,” he told JasonTheWeen.

Kvaratskhelia’s great season with PSG
Kvaratskhelia kicked off the season with Napoli, scoring five goals and adding three assists in 15 Serie A games. In January, he made a big €80 million move to PSG, the club’s biggest sale since Gonzalo Higuain, and settled in quickly with a goal and two assists in Ligue 1.
At PSG, Kvara picked up silverware quickly, winning Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. But the biggest moment came in the Champions League final, where he scored in a 5–0 win and became the first Georgian ever to score in a UCL final—a historic finish to an impressive season.
