Los Pumas, Los Universitario, Los Felinos, Los De Pedregal, Los Aurizaules. Call them how you want, but there’s not a single person inMexico that doesn’t have a strong opinion about Pumas UNAM.

Pumas UNAM are one of the strongest and most popular sides in Liga MX history. Their historical rivalry with Club América has headlined the media in Mexico City for ages, and that’s not going to change any time soon.

And, while they aren’t as successful as their lifelong rivals, they still have one of the strongest and most loyal fan bases in the world, and for very good reasons. That’s why today, we’ll walk you through every single one of their seven titles.

Every Liga MX Title In Pumas UNAM History

1976-77: Pumas had to wait almost 25 years before lifting their very first trophy. However, once they took off, they made sure to dominate in a high way, as they finished at the top of the table with 50 points before getting the job done in the liguilla, beating Universidad de Guadalajara.

1980-81: Pumas UNAM were back to the top just four years after winning their first Liga MX title. This time, they led their group again ahead of Neza and Chivasand then beat Cruz Azul in the final.

1990-91: Exactly ten years later, Los Auriazules managed to clinch their third title in club history. They had the best record in the league from start to finish and then beat Atlético Morelia, Puebla, and América in the liguilla.

Clausura 2004: Even though Jaguares de Chiapas were the best team in the regular season, Pumas UNAM peaked at the right time. They routed Atlas, Cruz Azul, and eventually Chivas to get their fourth trophy.

Apertura 2004: A couple of months later, Pumas UNAM would reaffirm their status as the best team in Mexican soccer by also winning the Apertura tournament, this time taking down Veracruz, Atlas, and Monterrey.

Clausura 2009: Once again, Pumas UNAM would shock the world and play better when it mattered the most. They finished in third place in the regular season and then beat Tecos, Puebla, and Pachuca.

Clausura 2011: 2011 was the last time that Pumas UNAM lifted a Liga MX title. They were tied with Tigres with 35 points in the regular season and later beat Monterrey, Chivas, and Morelia to win their seventh and final title to date.
