As in each of the 21 editions of the World Cup, there are some groups that are relatively accessible and others that no one would want to be in. However, we must remember that in order to reach this tournament, it is necessary to have the quality and character to overcome a very tough test such as the Qualifiers.

Soccer fans, fasten your seat belts because the greatest adventure this sport has to offer has already begun. The train has already left and is on its way to the great date of November 21, when 64 intense battles will be fought to find out who deserves to win the FIFA World Cuptrophy.

Mexico: its group and the opponents it will face in Qatar 2022

Mexico was placed third in Group C, which it shares with Argentina, Poland, and Saudi Arabia. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most evenly matched groups in the FIFA World Cup, where the Asian team is clearly the least favored, at least to start with.

Overall, El Tri already has a record in World Cup matches against two of its three Qatar 2022 opponents. Unfortunately for its cause, the background is not good, however, Gerardo Tata Martino’s great challenge will be to turn the statistics around and usher in a new era for Mexico against Argentina and Poland, and a great start to the World Cup rivalry against Saudi Arabia.

Mexico’s record against Argentina, Poland, and Saudi Arabia in World Cups

Mexico kicks off its participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup on November 22 against Poland at the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium. There is only one match between them in the history of this tournament, which was won by the European team in Germany 1978.

El Tri‘s next stop in Qatar 2022 is against Argentina, in its most complex match of the group stage, without a doubt. There is recent history between Mexico and the Albiceleste: they have faced each other 3 times in World Cups, the last two in 2006 and 2010, and in all of them the Argentine team has been the winner.

Finally, Tata Martino’s boys close their participation in the group stage against Saudi Arabia, an opponent Mexico has already faced, but never in a World Cup. In total, these teams have faced each other three times, and in all of them,El Tri has emerged victorious, in two of them by a wide margin of goals.
