Newcastle United is in rebuild mode, they need to be, the club sits in relegation positions in the Premier League and are in the market for a new manager. If the club survives this season, it will be what they do in the transfer market in the winter and during the summer that will have them looking ahead for bigger and better things.
With various reports as to which direction the club will go towards, one report that continues to gain traction is that the club is looking at FC Porto for a player that could help fill the void in the attack. They are not the only club chasing the 24-year-old winger from Colombia and could have strong competition.

According to SporTV, FC Porto and Colombian national team winger Luis Diaz is on Newcastle’s shortlist. The Colombian has been playing very well at Porto and caught the eye of many around the world after his strong performances at the Copa America in Brazil this past summer.
Diaz began his career at Barranquilla FC before moving to Colombian powerhouse Junior before his big European move to FC Porto in 2019. Since then, he has played 67 games and scored 18 goals in Portugal. Onthe Colombian national team he has 29 caps and 7 goals.

Diaz has interest from clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea. His high transfer value is because Porto have him signed up until June of 2024, anyone interested in the player must pay his release clause.
